I just got to thinking I'm going to have to do something here pretty soon if I ever want to have anything for retirement. And basically I just opened my ears and opened my eyes, and man, I tell you what, I'd never, ever go back. Never. It's been really, really good to me.

The union has put us on solid ground. We're happy. We're glad for what he's doing.

Joining the union was a good decision for me. We have better benefits and better retirement, wages are a lot better. I feel that if I'd stayed non-union I wouldn't be able to purchase the house that I did. I'd have had to settle for something less, and I would have had to make more cuts out of my life.

He's a lot happier when he comes home, because he's not working the longer hours and he's at home with us.

Whether or not to join the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers -- it's a decision you make for yourself and for your family. But also with your family. Along with the overall better pay and the full medical coverage for your family, your loved ones know that an IBEW work site is a safer work site. That's security today. And the generous pension and retirement benefits mean security for tomorrow.

As an IBEW member, you will be participating in three different pensions. First, the IBEW pension is funded with a portion of your dues. The NEBF defined benefit plan is paid by the employer, currently at $28 per month per year of service and going up every year. And with the employer-funded annuity program - up to $450 a month in many locals - and an optional 401(k) plan, you can retire after 30 years in the trade with a million dollars in pension benefits.

Just contact us and we can even prepare a personal projection of your pension potential for you.
